Since arriving in Lyon, DCforDATA, a data hosting company, has been experiencing rapid, steady growth. This development has been driven by the unique positioning of the company and the excellence of the Lyon area and its central telecommunications network.

DCforDATA paved the way for data centers in Lyon

When DCforDATA set up for business in Lyon in 2011, the company, specialising in data hosting services, brought its innovations to the local area. What’s original about it? It’s a "network-neutral" data center, guaranteeing the best telecommunications bundles that are non-binding in case of a change of operator.

The company, certified ISO 27001 and HDS (personal health data hosting), is renowned for the quality of its services. What’s its competitive edge? Efficient systems that guarantee the servers’ security, cooling, power and availability. And now, DCforDATA is implementing a sustainable energy policy to power its servers.

Lyon: at the centre of the telecommunications network

DCforDATA has two data centers in the Lyon region. The decision to establish a presence in Lyon, with its major telecommunications network, was a logical, strategic one. "It was important for an urban area such as Lyon to have this type of infrastructure", notes Nicolas Pitance, CEO of DCforDATA.

The data center in Limonest is located at the Techlid technology park. Situated at the junction between the long-distance networks and the networks of the metropolitan area, it offers a connection covering the entire region.

The second data center is at Rockefeller Bioparc, located in Lyon’s 8th district on a major telecommunications channel on the axis between Paris, Lyon and Marseille.

Advice and real estate expertise: the keys to successful support

In 2011, Nicolas Pitance asked the specialists of Aderly for help with setting up in Lyon, and received tailored support to complete his project. First, the advisors put him in touch with potential clients and partners. Next, Aderly leveraged its real estate expertise to help him find the right location.

In 2018, DCforDATA opened its second data center to meet the growing need for data hosting services. The firm’s goal is to become France’s second-largest data-hosting company after Paris.
